A Dynamic Architecture of Emotional Emergence: A Conceptual Proof-of-Concept Using The Triadic Recurrent Model (TRM) version 1

This paper introduces the Triadic Recurrent Model (TRM) as a conceptual Proof-of-Concept to explain the step-by-step emergence of emotions. By dividing the dynamic functioning of the brain and body into three primary macro-variables (Subcortical, Somatic/Autonomic, and Cortical), the model tracks their interactions over time. Using simulated biological data and mathematical normalization, the study successfully maps three distinct emotional reaction pathways (impulsive, suppressed, and regulated) in response to a sudden life-safety threat.

Abstract

This paper introduces the Triadic Recurrent Model (TRM) as a conceptual Proof-of-Concept to explain the step-by-step emergence of emotions. By dividing the dynamic functioning of the brain and body into three primary macro-variables (Subcortical, Somatic/Autonomic, and Cortical), the model tracks their interactions over time. Using simulated biological data and mathematical normalization, the study successfully maps three distinct emotional reaction pathways (impulsive, suppressed, and regulated) in response to a sudden life-safety threat.
