On the subjectivity and self realization of Russian youth in a state of controlled capitalism

The article examines the process of realizing the subjectivity of young people and their self realization in the context of an escalating geopolitical situation and changes in state policy towards young people. Sociological data characterizing the state of youth consciousness, as well as the evaluative judgments and preferences of young people in the fields of politics, socio economic and spiritual moral spheres, are summarized. The system of promoting young people to leading positions in all spheres of life is analysed, and the effectiveness of “elitism” as the main mechanism for forming an elite in Russian society — which creates the risk of social division — is assessed. It has been concluded that the ideological and moral foundation of young people’s consciousness is based on traditional values and the course towards the sovereign development of Russian civilization. The futility of Western ideologues’ hopes for increasing the protest potential of young Russians has been demonstrated.
