Artificial Intelligence for the Diagnosis of Acute Ischemic Stroke on Brain Computed Tomography: A Contemporary Review
Ischemic stroke is a socially significant disease with high mortality and disability rates, requiring rapid and accurate diagnosis. Non-contrast computed tomography (CT) is the first-line imaging modality, but it has limitations in detecting early ischemic changes and is subject to subjective assessment variability. The review of the literature (2019–2025) indexed in PubMed/MEDLINE and eLibrary databases was performed. Automated approaches for the diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke using brain CT imaging were considered.
