The Effectiveness of Kesprosd Card Game in Improving Elementary School Students' Reproductive Health Knowledge

School-age children are a strategic group in health programs. They comprise approximately 24% of the total population and have extensive access through school institutions. Some children between the ages of 12 and 15 begin to be exposed to various risky behaviors, including drug abuse, which can impact reproductive health. Therefore, reproductive health education in elementary schools needs to be developed comprehensively, encompassing cognitive, emotional, physical, and social aspects. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the KesproSD card game as a health education medium in increasing knowledge about reproductive health among elementary school students. The study used a 4D Research and Development (R&D) design involving 49 sixth-grade students at the Sleman Model Elementary School. Data were collected from March to June 2024 using a reproductive health knowledge questionnaire and the "KesproSD" card game educational media. Data analysis included univariate analysis to describe respondent characteristics and knowledge levels, and bivariate analysis using a parametric t-test to measure intervention effectiveness. Most respondents were male and aged 13. There was a significant increase in reproductive health knowledge scores before and after the intervention in both groups. However, the average increase in scores in the group using the "KesproSD" Card Game was significantly higher than in the leaflet group. The “KesproSD” Card Game has proven effective as a medium for promoting reproductive health for elementary school students and has the potential to be an innovative alternative in school-based health education.
