Pengaruh Pemberian Terapi Musik Frekuensi 432 Hertz Terhadap Tekanan Darah, Denyut Nadi, Dan Laju Pernapasan Pada Pasien Pra Ekstraksi Gigi

Dental anxiety is a negative emotional reaction in the form of anxiety towards dental treatment procedures. Dental anxiety in pre-tooth extraction patients can increase physiological responses, such as blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiratory rate, which can potentially hinder the success of treatment. This study aims to analyze the effect of 432 Hz frequency music therapy on blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiratory rate in pre-tooth extraction patients. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach on 35 patients selected using a purposive sampling technique at the Oral Surgery Clinic of RSGM, University of Jember. The 432 Hz frequency music therapy was played for 10 minutes before tooth extraction, then blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiratory rate were measured before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using a Paired Sample t-test. The results showed a mean decrease in blood pressure of 5.08/2.14 mmHg, pulse rate of 3.11 beats/minute, and respiratory rate of 1.85 breaths/minute after music therapy, with statistically significant differences (p<0.05). 432 Hz music therapy effectively reduced physiological responses related to anxiety in pre-tooth extraction patients, thus potentially being an easily implemented non-pharmacological intervention to improve patient comfort and support treatment success.
