The Connotation of the “Morality” Category in the Constitutional Law Science and Constitutional Law Regulation

The article presents the main opposing approaches to the possibility and expediency of regulating the category of “morality,” outlines the risks associated with the lack of legal clarity regarding this category, analyzes attempts to legally establish the criteria for moral behavior, and shows the forms in which the term “morality” is used in domestic constitutional and sectoral legislation. It is suggested that the Russian legal system has not developed a unified approach not only to the application of the concept of “morality,” but has also not accumulated a system of criteria for restricting rights and freedoms to protect morality within the Russian legal order, which is a deliberate method of constitutional and legal regulation.
