IMPLEMENTASI PERMAINAN DARTBOARD-MATH DALAM MENGEMBANGKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIS SISWA
The low level of students mathematical conceptual understanding in algebra remains a common issue in various educational institutions, including MTs Amrul Huda. Learning activities that are predominantly conducted through lecture based methods tend to make students passive and less motivated. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the DartBoard-Math in developing the mathematical conceptual understanding of seventh grade students at MTs Amrul Huda on algebraic topics. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach. The population consisted of all seventh grade students at MTs Amrul Huda, with samples selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was an essay test based on seven indicators of mathematical conceptual understanding. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and students written responses during the implementation of the game. The results showed that the use of DartBoard-Math increased students engagement in the learning process and demonstrated several indicators of mathematical conceptual understanding. These indicators included restating concepts, classifying objects, representing concepts in mathematical forms, using appropriate procedures or operations, and applying concepts in problem-solving. Therefore, DarthBoard-Math can serve as an engaging alternative learning medium to support the development of students’ mathematical conceptual understanding.
