Morpho-Taxonomic Characterization and Conservation Assessment of Dipteris wallichii (Dipteridaceae)
Dipteris wallichii (R. Br.) T.Moore is a primitive leptosporangiate fern narrowly distributed in the Eastern Himalayan hotspot regions. D. wallichii is a medium to large-sized plant with a wide, umbrella- or fan-shaped, coriaceous dark green lamina. The present study provides a detailed morphological feature and a preliminary conservation assessment of the species using the IUCN Red List categories and criteria Version 3.1 Second edition, 2012. The results provide an essential baseline conservation assessment for in-situ habitat protection.
