Internationalizing Marketing Management Education through Academic Exchange, Industry Engagement, and Community Empowerment: An International Community Service Program in Malaysia and Singapore
International community service can connect marketing education with professional practice and cooperation. This program comprised an interinstitutional assignment to Malaysia and Singapore and academic–industry engagement at Karangkraf Malaysia. Implementation involved preparation, knowledge exchange, an industrial visit, reflective evaluation, and follow-up planning. Academics discussed digital marketing, while practitioners shared publishing management and business experience. Participants encountered editorial, design, printing, and distribution processes. Immediate outputs included industry insights, initial institutional communication, publication materials, and curriculum recommendations. Community empowerment took the form of reciprocal professional knowledge sharing. The program linked international engagement with industry-informed education.
