This paper presents a self-consistent physical–mathematical hypothesis built on two primitive concepts, the spatial element and the spatial interface (spatial membrane), which offers a unified description of the microscopic propagation of light, inertia, gravitation, quantum tunneling, the formation of elementary particles, and the nature of space and black holes. Space itself is postulated to be mathematically continuous, flat, and isotropic, whereas energy exists as bosons (photons) endowed with frequency and period and therefore appears quantized at the observable level. The speed of light is defined as the number of spatial elements traversed per unit time. The instantaneous velocity is governed by the tangent function, while its period average equals the speed of light. The spatial scaling factor is determined through two independent routes (a Planck-scale fit and a five-interaction geometric derivation based on the fine-structure constant). The frequency–wavelength inverse relation is interpreted as a relativistic effect; an inverse-frequency tunneling (evanescent-wave) law is established; electron–positron formation is described as the exchange of spatial elements and cancellation of velocity by the membranes; and the strong force and gravitation are both attributed to the spatial compressive force. A set of testable predictions is provided.
