PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT BERBASIS POTENSI LOKAL : PEMBENTUKAN KETERAMPILAN PEMBUATAN SEDIAAN PREVENTIF TOGA DI DESA KARANGTAWAR,
The utilization of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) as preventive health products has the potential to increase the value of local plants, but requires education and processing skills tailored to community needs. This community service activity aimed to introduce the utilization of TOGA through the development of preventive health products and describe participants’ involvement and responses throughout the activities. The activities were conducted in Karangtawar Village, Laren District, Lamongan Regency, using a descriptive qualitative approach involving observation, interviews, and documentation. The implementation methods included material presentation, demonstrations, hands-on practice, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. Approximately 30 members of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) participated in a workshop on producing lemongrass-based mosquito repellent spray, while approximately 50 children participated in a workshop on producing aloe vera-based hand sanitizer. Observations indicated active participation and positive responses from participants. These activities have the potential to support preventive health education and community empowerment based on local resources, although their impact on improving participants’ knowledge and skills has not been quantitatively measured.
