Welsh government recognises your AHIC concerns
WE took your concerns about the impact of sudden changes to the Animal Health Improvement Cycle (AHIC) straight to the Welsh government in October when we met with Llyr Gruffydd, cabinet minister for rural resilience and sustainability. It was a constructive meeting, and we secured assurances from the minster that he recognises the impacts of the delivery changes to the scheme and he committed to working more closely with the profession on the AHIC and the wider Sustainable Farming Scheme moving forward. We look forward to hearing more about how this will be taken into consideration in formulating the next steps towards rebuilding trust. Thank you to everyone who shared details of how these changes will impact your practice, these data were invaluable and we hope will lead to increasing dialogue on this issue, and others, with the Welsh government.
