Avatar‐assisted CBT helps people with substance use and other problems
One of the ways young patients have been attracted to treatment is through “avatars” – digital therapeutics. What originated as a focus on substance use disorder (SUD) and violent behavior, particularly related to intimate partner violence,” a digital therapeutics program is designed to help patients. In a program at the annual meeting of the Coalition of Medication‐Assisted Treatment Providers and Advocates (COMPA) in Rochester, New York last week, Cory Crane Ph.D., associate professor in the departments of psychiatry and addiction psychiatry at the University of Rochester discussed the avatar‐assisted cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program for substance use disorder (SUD) and other problems.
