MAQASHID SYARIAH SEBAGAI LANDASAN FILOSOFIS PEMBANGUNAN EKONOMI BERKELANJUTAN

Sustainable economic development requires a philosophical foundation that is oriented not only toward economic growth, but also toward social justice, public welfare, and environmental preservation. In Islamic economic studies, Maqashid Syariah can serve as a conceptual framework for understanding the objectives of Islamic law in realizing public benefit (maslahah). This article aims to examine Maqashid Syariah as a philosophical foundation for sustainable economic development, including its relationship with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the role of Islamic philanthropy, its application in modern economic transactions, and the development of the green economy in Indonesia. The study applies a qualitative approach based on library research, using descriptive-qualitative analysis of scholarly journal articles published in 2022–2026, with the study by Isman and Kaltsum (2022) as the primary data source. The findings show that the five main objectives of Maqashid Syariah, namely the protection of religion, life, intellect, lineage, and wealth, are related to SDGs agendas such as poverty alleviation, health, education, reduced inequality, and environmental protection. These values can be realized through zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf, fair and transparent modern Islamic transactions, and green economy instruments such as green sukuk and productive waqf. However, implementation still faces challenges, including limited infrastructure, low public understanding, poorly integrated policies, and limited access to green financing for small and medium enterprises. The article concludes that development success should be measured not only by economic growth, but also by justice, human protection, public benefit, and environmental sustainability for present and future generations.
