Preparing Medical Students for the «KROK 1» Licensing Examination: Adapting Pathology Teaching to the Updated Test-Item Format.
This paper examines recent changes in how knowledge of pathology is assessed in «KROK 1», the integrated licensing examination for medical students in Ukraine. Test items are moving away from eponyms and recognisable "key words" towards detailed clinico-morphological descriptions. We describe how practical classes in pathological anatomy were reorganised in response, with an emphasis on step-by-step clinical reasoning and on students identifying pathological processes on their own.
