Abstract The rapid advancement of Financial Technology (FinTech) has significantly transformed the structure and functioning of the Indian financial system. The growth of digital payment platforms, mobile banking, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and data-driven financial services has changed the way individuals and businesses access and use financial services. In India, digital payments have emerged as an important component of financial transformation, while Artificial Intelligence is increasingly being used for fraud detection, credit assessment, customer service, risk management and personalised financial services. This study examines the role of FinTech in transforming the Indian financial system, with particular emphasis on digital payments and Artificial Intelligence. The study proposes an analytical framework linking FinTech adoption, digital payment usage, AI-enabled financial services, consumer trust, cybersecurity and financial inclusion. A structured questionnaire can be used to collect primary data from users of digital financial services. The proposed study may employ descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analysis to examine relationships among the major variables. The paper also discusses opportunities and challenges associated with technology-driven financial transformation, including cybersecurity risks, digital fraud, data privacy, technological barriers and the digital divide.
