A Study of Drug Concentration Using the Laplace Transform

In this article, we apply the Laplace transform to calculate drug concentrations in the central and peripheral compartments of the human body. We determine the functions that describe these concentrations in terms of the time elapsed since administration. The results illustrate the effectiveness and versatility of the Laplace transform in solving systems of ordinary differential equations and analyzing drug distribution and elimination in a two-compartment model.

Abstract

In this article, we apply the Laplace transform to calculate drug concentrations in the central and peripheral compartments of the human body. We determine the functions that describe these concentrations in terms of the time elapsed since administration. The results illustrate the effectiveness and versatility of the Laplace transform in solving systems of ordinary differential equations and analyzing drug distribution and elimination in a two-compartment model.
