Solute carrier family 25A18 deficiency promotes cholangiocarcinoma progression and reduces gemcitabine sensitivity by impairing transforming growth factor beta receptor 1 ubiquitination and degradation
BACKGROUNDGemcitabine-based (GEM-based) chemotherapy remains a mainstay of treatment for cholangiocarcinoma (CCA); however, acquired resistance substantially limits its clinical efficacy.Members of the solute carrier family 25 (SLC25) have been implicated in tumorigenesis and therapeutic resistance, SLC25A18/TGFBR1 assessment may provide exploratory prognostic information, while its value for predicting GEM response and therapeutic targeting remains to be established.
