Prospects for the Return of Ukrainian Society to Constitutional Values in the Post-War Period
The return of Ukrainian society to constitutional values in the post-war period is a necessary prerequisite for the full restoration of the effect of the Ukrainian Constitution. The prospects for establishing constitutional values in Ukrainian society in the post-war period and the full restoration of the effect of the Ukrainian Constitution depend on many factors, both objective and subjective. In this context, there is an urgent need to restore, first and foremost, the functional division of state power and the system of checks and balances to overcome the consequences of a certain concentration of power under martial law. Similarly, a crucial task in the post-war period in Ukraine must be the restoration of freedom of speech, democratic freedoms, and competitive free elections. Attempts to manipulate public consciousness and impose various dubious theses on citizens, shifting the attention of the general public to secondary topics to disorient Ukrainian voters, as well as discrediting the idea of Ukrainian statehood, could become a significant obstacle to the return to constitutional values.
