PREPARATION AND EVALUATION OF HERBAL BASED FACIAL SCRUB
In recent times, consumer preference for herbal-based cosmetics has increased considerably due to their better safety profile, cost-effectiveness, and reduced risk of adverse effects when compared with synthetic formulations. Because they help exfoliate, remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and improve the texture and appearance of the skin, facial scrubs are an essential part of skincare routines. Regular use of chemical-based exfoliating treatments can cause long-term damage, dryness, and irritation of the skin. The development of natural face scrubs with a herbal base caused a lot of interest as a remedy for these issues. The present research set out to develop and evaluate a herbal face scrub using specific plant-based ingredients that have been reported to possess exfoliating, antibacterial, antioxidant, and skin-nourishing properties. The herbal ingredients were chosen because of their traditional use and therapeutic advantages in maintaining healthy skin, reducing acne, controlling excessive oil production, and delaying the signs of early aging. An appropriate formulation foundation was used to ensure consistency, stability, and ease of application. A range of physicochemical characteristics, such as color, odor, consistency, pH, spreadability, viscosity, and skin irritation, have been evaluated for the prepared herbal face scrub. The evaluation experiment's outcomes showed that the formulation had a skin-friendly pH, suitable viscosity, good spreadability, and a constant consistency. The formulation's safety and lack of irritation have been confirmed by the skin irritation test. The study's overall outcomes suggest that the produced herbal face scrub is safe, stable, and suitable for routine topical application it provides a more natural and effective replacement for artificial exfoliation techniques.
