Role of INFLIBNET in University Libraries of Assam (India)
The present study is an attempt to study the use of INFLIBNET services in the university libraries of Assam a state in India. The study is based on a well-structured questionnaire distributed among 13 universities out of 29 in the state. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS and Excel. The results show near complete usage of One Nation One Subscription and considerable usage of Shodhganga and ShodhShuddhi mainly by the faculty and research scholars. Libraries reported high levels of satisfaction with the adequacy of e-resources and a significant reduction in print spending, but contributions to IndCat and the use of repositories remain sporadic. Users still have problems with IP authentication and off-campus access. For standard automation, there are many options. Many institutions prefer KOHA or NewGenLib as compared to SOUL. Overall INFLIBNET helps in research but lacunae in awareness and infrastructure need to be taken care of.
