Lasiolepiota Sysouph., Yuan S. Liu & Vellinga 2026, gen. nov.

Lasiolepiota Sysouph., Yuan S. Liu & Vellinga gen. nov. Diagnosis. Basidiomata lepiotoid, fragile. Pileus subumbonate to plano-concave, with straight margin; with an irregular glabrous, persistent, grayish ruby to dark ruby patch at center, covered with a thick layer of fibrous felt or woolly floccules on the whole surface, violet brown to dark ruby; with concolorous felt as on surface and exceeding lamellae. Lamellae free, white, crowded, broadly ventricose. Stipe cylindrical to subcylindrical, covered with a violet brown to dark ruby layer of fibrous felt, hollow. Annulus membranous. Basidiospores ellipsoid ovoid to amydaliform, hyaline. Basidia short and clavate, hyaline, 4 - spored. Cheilocystidia clavate, fusiform or utriform, hyaline, branched. Pleurocystidia absent. Pileus- and stipe covering an irregular cutis composed of cylindrical hyphae and elements. Clamp connections absent. Typus generi. Lasiolepiota oinochroa Sysouph., Yuan S. Liu & Vellinga. Etymology. from the combination of Greek “λασιοτριχος” (lasiotrichos, meaning “ shaggy ”) and the genus name Lepiota, which looks like the genus Lepiota but the basidiomata are shaggy-haired.

Basidiospores ellipsoid ovoid to amydaliform, hyaline. Basidia short and clavate, hyaline, 4 - spored. Cheilocystidia clavate, fusiform or utriform, hyaline, branched. Pleurocystidia absent. Pileus- and stipe covering an irregular cutis composed of cylindrical hyphae and elements. Clamp connections absent. Typus generi. Lasiolepiota oinochroa Sysouph., Yuan S. Liu & Vellinga.
