Customized Dowel with a Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal Crown on a Central Incisor Following Root Canal Treatment
This case report describes the outcome of restoring the upper right central incisor after completion of root canal treatment, with emphasis on the use of a post-supported crown to rehabilitate the tooth’s appearance and function. A 31-year-old male patient presented to the UNEJ Dental Hospital with extensive caries affecting the upper right anterior tooth. The diagnosis was Previously Treated (Post PSA). Treatment consisted of placement of a metal post core followed by fabrication and cementation of a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown restoration (Post PSA). The results of this case indicate that crown restoration can effectively rehabilitate the aesthetic function of a severely damaged tooth after root canal treatment.
