Efecto del bioprodcuto Lebame® en la cremosidad de granos de Oryza sativa L. cultivar IACuba 41

The commercial quality of rice (Oryza sativa L.) is compromised by appearance defects such as endosperm chalkiness, which reduces milling yield. This study evaluated the effect of the Lebame® bioproduct on the percentage of chalky grains in the IACuba 41 cultivar. A field experiment was established on a Vertisol, analyzing seed imbibition with the bioproduct at a dose of 10 mL L⁻¹ for 24 hours, followed by 48 hours of shaded aeration prior to sowing, plus two field applications at 25 and 50 days after sowing. An independent-samples Student's t-test demonstrated that 24-hour imbibition at 10 mL L⁻¹ significantly reduced the incidence of this defect relative to the treatment without the bioproduct. The Bayes factor and bootstrap analysis confirmed the robustness of the difference (p < 0.001). The control group recorded a mean of 26.30 % with greater dispersion, whereas the experimental treatment reached a mean of 15.10 %, representing an absolute decrease of 11.20 percentage points. The findings indicated that the synergistic action of the microorganisms favored endosperm filling. The study concluded that this biostimulant represents a viable alternative for optimizing the apparent quality and industrial value of the grain.
