Integrating Basic and Clinical Sciences in Medical Education: Current Experience in Teaching Pathological Anatomy
This paper looks at how basic and clinical sciences can be brought together in the training of future doctors. Drawing on the design and introduction of a new syllabus for the course "Fundamentals of Pathology", we show how a competency-based approach links the morphological basis of disease closely to clinical practice, and we describe our experience with case-based learning (CBL).
