The Level of Happiness and its Relationship to Job Satisfaction among Employees in Child Care Institutions in the West Bank
This study aimed to examine the level of happiness and its relationship with job satisfaction among employees working in childcare institutions in the West Bank. The study adopted a descriptive correlational methodology. Two main instruments were used: the Oxford Happiness Questionnaire, developed by Hills & Argyle (Hills & Argyle,2002), and the General Job Satisfaction Scale, developed by Macdonald & MacIntyre It was translated and adapted to the Arab environment by Mohammed Ali (Ali,2024). The study population consisted of employees working in the 13-child care institutions in Palestine that serve children without parental care. The total number of employees in 2025 was 349. A convenience sample of 103 employees was selected for the study. The results revealed that employees in these institutions reported a high level of both happiness and job satisfaction. Furthermore, the findings indicated a strong positive correlation between happiness and job satisfaction, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of (r = .611**). The study recommended improving the system of financial and moral incentives and rewards for employees in childcare institutions, particularly in light of the lower satisfaction levels associated with the material aspects of the job.
