Stability of Multiserver-job Models with Arbitrary Service Times under Existence of Blocking Requests

An ergodicity criterion is established for multichannel systems where each customer requires a random number of servers for processing. We consider systems in which there is a non-zero probability that an arriving customer requires all available servers. The service time distribution is assumed to be arbitrary, while the arrival process is regenerative. A statistical estimation procedure for the system load parameter is proposed.

Abstract

An ergodicity criterion is established for multichannel systems where each customer requires a random number of servers for processing. We consider systems in which there is a non-zero probability that an arriving customer requires all available servers. The service time distribution is assumed to be arbitrary, while the arrival process is regenerative. A statistical estimation procedure for the system load parameter is proposed.
