An Experimental Proposal to Test Whether Light Shares the Translational Motion of a Reference Frame

This paper presents a proposed experimental test to investigate whether light shares the translational motion of a reference frame in which it propagates. The proposal describes a triangular arrangement involving three stations, with light travelling along two opposing paths. The experiment is intended to examine whether light shares the lateral translational motion of the apparatus, providing a means of investigating an aspect of light propagation that may have implications for our understanding of its behaviour in moving reference frames. The paper outlines the conceptual basis and general experimental arrangement, rather than a complete technical or engineering design. It makes no prediction concerning the experimental outcome. Intended for physicists, experimental researchers, students, and theorists interested in the foundations of relativity and electromagnetic wave propagation, this work encourages further investigation into the physical behaviour of light in moving reference frames. Abstract
