Prosthetic rehabilitation of a missing maxillary central incisor using splinted crowns with periodontal surgical management: A case report
Loss of a maxillary central incisor presents a challenge significantly with esthetics and function due to its prominent position in the smile. Multiple treatment options such as dental implants, resin-bonded bridges, and fixed dental prosthesis are advisable usually. However, systemic or anatomical limitations may restrict considering the implant restoration. This case report describes the conservative prosthetic rehabilitation of a missing maxillary central incisor. The maxillary right lateral incisor and the maxillary left central incisor were prepared and restored as splinted crowns to simulate the morphology of two maxillary central incisors. Periodontal surgical intervention was carried out to maintain the biological width and establish favorable gingival architecture. The multidisciplinary approach resulted in satisfactory esthetic and functional results.
