E-VOTING SYSTEM USING BLOCKCHAIN

Electronic voting (E-voting) is a technology-based approach that aims to simplify the process of casting, recording, and counting votes. Although electronic systems may reduce manual effort and improve the efficiency of election procedures, they also introduce concerns related to voter authentication, ballot privacy, data integrity, security, and public trust. Blockchain technology has attracted research interest as a potential approach to addressing some of these concerns through distributed recordkeeping, cryptographic mechanisms, and tamper-evident transaction histories. This paper presents a review of existing research on blockchain- based e-voting systems, with a focus on their architectures, security mechanisms, and potential applications in institutional and public elections. The review examines the use of blockchain networks, smart contracts, voter authentication methods, and cryptographic techniques for managing and verifying voting transactions. It also considers the limitations associated with voter anonymity, scalability, transaction processing, compromised voting devices, and the prevention of coercion. Rather than presenting an experimentally implemented system, this study analyzes previously published approaches to understand their reported capabilities and limitations. The review aims to identify important research challenges and areas for further investigation that may contribute to the design of secure, transparent, and privacy-preserving electronic voting systems
