BREXAL: Integrating Application Monitoring, Maintenance Workflows and AI-Assisted Operational Analysis

BREXAL: Integrating Application Monitoring, Maintenance Workflows and AI-Assisted Operational Analysis BREXAL is an AI-assisted application operations and monitoring platform designed to integrate application health monitoring, incident management, maintenance workflows, infrastructure monitoring, and operational analysis into a unified workspace. This research paper presents the architecture, implementation, data flow, and operational capabilities of BREXAL. The platform combines a Next.js and React frontend with a Python-based FastAPI backend, SQLAlchemy data models, and AI-powered services. The proposed system incorporates several key capabilities, including: Application Monitoring: Website uptime checks, response-time monitoring, and incident detection. Infrastructure Monitoring: CPU, memory, and disk utilization tracking through a Python-based monitoring agent. Incident Management: Incident tracking, status transitions, and operational activity records. Bug and Maintenance Management: Defect tracking, maintenance scheduling, and team collaboration. AI-Assisted Analysis: Gemini-powered root-cause hypotheses, operational summaries, and troubleshooting recommendations. Health Scoring: A weighted application health score based on uptime, bug severity, and maintenance compliance. Trend-Based Risk Analysis: Analysis of historical monitoring and server metrics to identify potential operational risks. The paper examines how deterministic monitoring mechanisms and generative AI assistance can work together while maintaining transparency, traceability, and human supervision over operational decisions. It also discusses important engineering considerations, including security, prompt injection, data validation, monitoring reliability, AI grounding, and performance evaluation. The study is based on a source-code inspection of the BREXAL software artefact and proposes a structured evaluation framework for future validation. It does not claim experimentally verified prediction accuracy or production-level performance improvements. Research Area: Artificial Intelligence, AIOps, Software Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Application Monitoring, Generative AI, and Incident Management. Project: BREXALResearch Focus: Integrating Application Monitoring, Maintenance Workflows and AI-Assisted Operational Analysis.
