La construcción social del camarín del Carmen en San Luis Potosí, México
This article analyzes the social construction of the space known as the camarín in the Temple of El Carmen in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. We hold that it is not a camarín built ex professo, since neither its location within the temple nor its architectural and spatial configuration justify such a classification; it was designated as a camarín in the 20th century. We propose that this conceptual transformation began with the academic works, but was later accepted and appropriated by the clergy and the congregation.
