EASN White Book on Aviation: 2026–2029 and Beyond

The EASN White Book on Aviation – 2026–2029 and beyond presents a strategic academia vision for the future of European aviation research. Developed by the European Aerospace Science Network (EASN), the White Book articulates breakthrough scientific priorities, disruptive research directions, and long-term perspectives that are essential to achieving a sustainable, competitive, climate-neutral, safe, and resilient aviation sector. Building upon previous EASN White Book editions and continuous consultation within the EASN community, this document reflects the evolving technological, environmental, societal, and regulatory context in which European aviation must operate. It is positioned upstream of implementation-oriented roadmaps, such as Strategic Research and Innovation Agendas (SRIAs), and focuses on low- to mid-Technology Readiness Level (TRL) research, where the role of academia is critical.
