The Effectiveness of a Training Program Based on the Behavioral Theory in Reducing Hyperactivity among a Sample of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of a training program based on the behavioral theory in reducing hyperactivity among a sample of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).The study adopted the quasi-experimental method with the utilization of two tools: the hyperactivity scale and the training program based on the behavioral theory. The validity and reliability of the tool were verified. The study sample consisted of (12) male and female children with autism spectrum disorder ranged From (8, 10, and 12) years. They were distributed into an experimental and control groups during the year 2024/2025. Results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences at (α (0.05≥ between the meam ranks of children’s scores on the scale as a whole in the post-application and in favor of the experimental group. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean ranks of children’s scores on the scale as a whole in the post-application attributed to the gender variable, and in favor of females. The study recommended activating the role of training programs to reduce activity in all centers specialized in children with autism spectrum disorder, and activating the role of parents in training programs for children with autism spectrum disorder.
