Flood disasters are among the most frequent disasters and can impact the safety and educational processes of school-aged children. Low knowledge regarding disaster preparedness can increase the risk of panic and errors in performing self-rescue actions. This study aims to determine the effect of flood disaster preparedness education on students’ knowledge. This research is pre-experimental with a one group pretest-posttest design approach. The population consists of all 90 students at the school, with the sampling technique being simple random sampling using the Slovin formula, resulting in a sample size of 47 people. The data collection instrument uses a questionnaire sheet, namely knowledge about flood disaster preparedness. This research was conducted at MIN 30 Beureunuen, Pidie Regency, on August 11-12, 2026. The results of the study show that the average knowledge score was 9.89 on the pretest and 13.68 on the posttest. Furthermore, the effect of flood disaster preparedness education on students’ knowledge yielded a p-value of < 0.000. The conclusion of this study is that flood disaster preparedness education has an effect on students’ knowledge at MIN 30 Beureunuen in Regency Pidie.
