Parenting, Personality, and Sexual Values

The present study aims to look at whether experienced parenting styles and Big Five personality traits together are predictors of one's sexual attitudes. An online study was conducted, utilizing three different scales to measure one's caregiver's parenting styles, the participant's personality traits, and the participant's sexual attitudes. Although an ongoing study, the conclusions thus far in the 181 current participants are as follows: (1) Parenting styles seem to have strong relationships to sexual attitudes, (2) some personality traits also appear to have relationships with sexual attitudes, (3) Models that use both Parenting and Personality Traits to predict Sexual Attitudes can be better than models that use only one or the other, but this depends upon the Sexual Attitude
