The PENERAPAN MEDIA KARTU KATA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN MENYUSUN KALIMAT MAJEMUK PADA SISWA KELAS IV DI SDN CIKAYAS 2

This research was motivated by the low skills in constructing compound sentences among fourth-grade students at SDN Cikayas 2. Based on initial observations, 21 of the 29 students scored below the Learning Objective Achievement Criteria (KKTP) of 70, and only 8 students achieved mastery. This study aimed to improve skills in constructing compound sentences through the application of word cards. The research method used was the Hopkins Classroom Action Research (CAR) model, implemented in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the use of word cards improved students' skills in constructing compound sentences. This was evident in the increase in students' average scores from 26.13 in the pre-cycle to 65 in the first cycle and then to 78 in the second cycle. The learning completion rate also increased from 27.5% in the pre-cycle to 37.5% in the first cycle, and reached 85% in the second cycle. Furthermore, student and teacher activity during the learning process showed significant improvement. Thus, the word cards were effective in improving the compound sentence construction skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Cikayas 2.
