Single-Neuron Memory: Combinations that Occur Together, Recur Together
We propose a novel memory model in which a single memory neuron functions as a complete memory system. Unlike synaptic-change models, our approach posits that memory records, or engrams, are stored internally within the neuron's cell body. The flow of logic and information within the neuron is mediated by diffusion. Our model makes explicit, testable predictions that can be examined through calculations on available multi-electrode recordings.
