Intricatia petra Nastasi, a new genus and species of herb gall wasp (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae: Aulacideini) from Jordan
A new genus and species of herb gall wasp (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae: Aulacideini) collected in Jerash, Jordan was discovered among unsorted Cynipoidea at the Canadian National Collection of Insects and Arachnids (CNC; Ottawa, Ontario, Canada); this taxon is described here as Intricatia petra Nastasi gen. & sp. nov. Intricatia appears similar to Fumariphilus Nieves-Aldrey but differs in many important diagnostic characters, especially the presence of striate-reticulate sculpture on the mesopleuron, a lack of marginal setae on the fore wing, and F2 being much longer than F1. After the description of I. petra, the world Aulacideini fauna includes 97 species in 12 genera.
