Exploring the adoption and evaluation of artificial intelligence research tools in licensed electronic resources
Artificial intelligence is increasingly embedded in academic research databases, reshaping how researchers discover and use information. This article provides a broad overview of current AI applications in electronic research databases and discusses a framework (REACT) used for evaluating their effectiveness, usability, and alignment with institutional values. Additionally, it outlines the findings from a multi-institutional survey designed to examine how libraries are approaching the licensing, adoption, and policy development and evaluation of AI enabled research tools.
