IMPLEMENTASI APLIKASI NGL (NOT GONNA LIE) SEBAGAI MEDIA PENCEGAHAN DAN PENANGANAN PERUNDUNGAN DI SMP KOTA MAKASSAR

This study aims to examine the implementation of the NGL (Not Gonna Lie) application as a tool for preventing and addressing bullying in junior high schools in Makassar City, focusing on four stages: dissemination, reporting channels, the complaint handling process, and continuous evaluation and improvement. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews with school principals, NGL administrators, guidance counselors, and four students; findings were supplemented by documentation and validated through source and method triangulation. Implementation proceeded via institutionalized, multi-layered dissemination that successfully dispelled the stigma equating "reporting" with "snitching," utilized barcode-based anonymous reporting channels, and employed a tiered complaint handling process verified through guidance team briefings and CCTV footage. Continuous evaluation focused on strengthening verification infrastructure; the volume of reports rose from 0–1 to 5–10 per month following the application's adoption. This study is the first to examine the institutional use of a popular anonymous app—adopted organically by adolescents—as a mechanism for bullying prevention and intervention in formal schools, supported by primary interview data from both school personnel and student users.
