IMPLEMENTASI PEMBELAJARAN MAHARAH KALAM MENGGUNAKAN METODE AUDIOLINGUAL DAN KOMUNIKATIF DI PONDOK PESANTREN MUJAHIDIN DIWEK JOMBANG

Objective: This study aims to describe the implementation of Maharah Kalam (Arabic speaking skill) learning using Audiolingual and Communicative methods at Pondok Pesantren Mujahidin Diwek Jombang, and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. Methods: This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Results: The findings show that the integration of Audiolingual and Communicative methods is implemented in a phased and systematic manner. The Audiolingual method is applied through various drill techniques (repetition, substitution, question-answer, dialogue memorization, and chain drill) as a foundation for forming linguistic habits, pronunciation accuracy, and vocabulary mastery. After the basic linguistic foundation is mastered, the Communicative method is applied through interactive dialogue activities (hiwar), role play, and group discussions to develop fluency, spontaneity, and students' courage in communicating. Novelty: This study offers a new perspective on the integration of Audiolingual and Communicative methods in pesantren context, which has been rarely studied in previous research.
