RetailSphere AI: An Intelligent Furniture Retail and Custom Manufacturing Platform

The furniture industry is increasingly moving toward digitally connected, personalized, and data-driven retail and manufacturing. Artificial Intelligence (AI), recommender systems, e-commerce technologies, mass customization, and Industry 4.0 provide opportunities to improve product discovery, customer decision-making, furniture customization, and production coordination. However, existing research is often fragmented, with recommendation systems focusing on personalization, furniture e-commerce research focusing on consumer experience, customization studies addressing product configuration, and Industry 4.0 research concentrating on manufacturing digitalization. This review examines these research areas and their relevance to an integrated furniture retail and custom-manufacturing platform. The reviewed studies cover AI-based e-commerce recommendation, online furniture consumer experience, furniture recommendation, mass personalization, product configuration, Industry 4.0 adoption, customized production management, and automated furniture design and fabrication. The literature indicates a gap in connecting customer-facing retail functions with customized production workflows. Based on this gap, RetailSphere AI is proposed as an intelligent platform connecting furniture retail, customization, inventory, manufacturing workflow, order tracking, and analytics within a unified digital environment.
