A Public Marketplace for Abandoned and Delisted Cryptocurrency Tokens
This proposal introduces the concept of a public marketplace dedicated to abandoned, inactive, and delisted cryptocurrency tokens. Many cryptocurrency holders are left with tokens that can no longer be traded on major centralized exchanges because of delistings, project abandonment, loss of developer support, or declining market activity. As a result, holders may have no practical way to find potential buyers, even when they are willing to sell their remaining assets. The proposed marketplace would provide an open platform where holders could list such tokens and connect with interested buyers, without depending exclusively on the original project developers or the listing decisions of centralized exchanges. The concept aims to improve market accessibility, provide new opportunities for holders of otherwise difficult-to-trade assets, and encourage transparent price discovery for abandoned or delisted tokens.Depending on the implementation, the marketplace could support peer-to-peer transactions, decentralized trading mechanisms, and transparent information about token contracts, liquidity, and trading risks. The proposal does not assume that every abandoned token has value or can be traded safely. Appropriate safeguards, fraud prevention, risk disclosures, and technical verification would be essential components of any implementation. This document records the proposed concept and provides a starting point for further research, discussion, and technical development. It describes a proposed idea, not an already implemented or operational marketplace.
