Silver Nanoparticles: The Impact of the Synthesis Duration When Utilizing Morinda Citrifolia Linn. Leaf Extract as a Reductant

Noni leaves (Morinda citrifolia Linn) have potential as reducing agents in the process of forming silver nanoparticles because they contain active secondary metabolite compounds. This study aims to examine the possibility of using non-leaf extractreducing agents in the context of the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). This methodology involved a combination of various percentages of 15% noni leaf extract and 85% 1 mM AgNO3 solution. The mixture was then incubated at 80∘C for 30–120 minutes. The results showed that the best synthesis of AgNPs took 120 min with a diameter of 95.27 nm, zeta potential -26.0 mV, and uniform polydispersity index (PI) with a value of 0.351. Thus, these findings indicate that a mixture of 15% Morinda citrifolia Linn. leaf extract and 85% AgNO3, synthesized over 120 minutes, produced silver nanoparticles [AgNPs] characterized by a size of 95.27 nm, a polydispersity index of 0.351, and a zeta potential of -26.0 mV.
