Nonmetal‐Catalyzed Selective Cycloaddition Reactions of N ‐2,2,2‐Trifluoroethylisatin Ketimines
ABSTRACT Among the developed isatin synthons, N ‐2,2,2‐trifluoroethylisatin ketimine, containing an oxindole and trifluoromethyl deactivating moiety, is known as an efficient and versatile building block in (3+n)‐cycloaddition reactions to construct a wide range of heterolytic spirocyclic compounds. This review highlights various metal‐free organocatalytic and base‐catalyzed systems involving N ‐2,2,2‐trifluoroethylisatin ketimines.
