This study aims to analyze the reciprocal relationship among humans, animals, and nature as a form of ecological education in children’s literature based on the folktales Aji Pamasa dan Burung Bertuah, using Cheryll Glotfelty’s ecocritical perspective. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method. Data of this reaserach were taken from excerpts representing the reciprocal relationships among humans, animals, and nature. The research findings revealed that the folk tale of Aji Pamasa dan Burung Bertuah conveys lessons about honesty and perseverance through the characters’ attitudes and actions. These values are illustrated by Aji Pamasa’s willingness to undertake a journey through the supernatural realm in search of the magical bird. His quest is intended to break the curse that causes the prospective brides of both Aji Pamasa and his older brother to die.
