CO-EVOLUTION OF INNOVATION ECOSYSTEMS AND HYBRID ORGANIZATIONS

This paper explores the co-evolution of innovation ecosystems (IES) and hybrid organizations (HO), with a particular focus on the transi- tion from linear, business-oriented models of innovation processes to network-structured IES. Based on a systematic literature review, the key mechanisms of mutual adaptation between IES and HO have been identified. By combining market-driven and mission-oriented logic, HOs leverage the structure and dynamics of IES to affirm their legitimacy within complex and rapidly changing environments. Acting as bridges between business, innovation, and platform eco- systems, they facilitate the exchange of knowledge and resources, connect the activities of diverse actors, and serve as catalysts for mu- tual collaboration. At the same time, IES evolve toward greater flex- ibility, creating conditions for the integration and support of hybrid organizations. Based on theoretical analysis, a conceptual model is proposed to illustrate the dynamic interaction between IES and HO, aiming to foster innovation and enhance sustainable socio-economic development.
