ANALISIS KESULITAN BELAJAR SISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN IPAS BERBASIS PROBLEM BASED LEARNING PADA IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM MERDEKA DI KELAS V SD LANGSA LAMA

Objective: This study aims to describe the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in IPAS learning for fifth-grade students at SD Langsa Lama, the difficulties faced by teachers and students, and the improvement strategies applied. Method: This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was examined through source and technique triangulation. Results: PBL was implemented according to its learning syntax with adjustments to classroom conditions and students’ characteristics. Students experienced difficulties in understanding problems, finding and processing information, determining solutions, discussing, and expressing opinions. Teachers addressed these difficulties through assistance, motivation, group discussions, varied learning media, and methods adapted to students’ needs and IPAS material characteristics. Novelty: The novelty of this study lies in the improvement strategies developed through reflection on difficulties in PBL implementation, making learning more effective and encouraging students’ active involvement in understanding problems, discussing, and finding solutions.
