Analysis of Serum Stability on Glucose Levels Across Storage Time Variations
Blood glucose test accuracy is heavily influenced by sample handling delays and storage temperatures. This experimental study aimed to analyze glucose stability in serum samples across storage intervals (0, 2, 4, 6, 12, and 24 hours) at room temperature (20–30°C) and refrigerator temperature (2–8°C). Using 4 serum samples measured via the GOD-PAP method, data were analyzed using Two-Way ANOVA. The results demonstrated that storage time and temperature, both individually and combined, significantly affected serum glucose levels (p < 0.001). The most substantial decrease occurred at room temperature over 24 hours (reaching ~30.90%), whereas refrigerator storage provided better stability. In conclusion, storage duration and temperature significantly reduce blood glucose levels.
